"hi!", I won't bore you too much with my life story as to say I grew up in a rough part of birmingham and was the youngest of three with a tireless mom who managed to keep us on the straight and narrow.
i love the outdoors and nature, eventually choosing to change career to be closer to it. there is nothing more satisfying than hiking 20 miles into the mountains to see the sun set and then rise again in my opinion.
settling on a career in sales, support and training. all within the science and medical sectors. i had great opportunities to travel and work across the world. from asia to africa and the america's.
supporting some of the greatest medical teams and doctors on the planet. providing close one 2 one support. while delivering product based solutions in heath-care.
eventually swapping the surgical mask and scrubs for the steel toe-capped boots and hardhat of the maintenance and building world, after a health and life epiphany moment 4 years ago.
the reality is we all have to focus on our health if we want to have a long and for-filling life. you'll be told "it's a balance", it's not. work is only possible if you prioritise life. i took 30 years to work this out.
working across the world gives you an amazing insight into cultures and how our fellow humans live. a huge amount working to survive and feed their families in the harshest environments. barely scraping by. it really highlights what we need in our lives to be healthy both in body and mind.
for me it took me from the big cities full of traffic and crime of the western world to the rolling hills and munros of my ancestral home. embracing health and freeing the mind of negative noise, replacing it with nature and the odd curdling whine of bagpipes.
now I embrace my community and enjoy the solidarity of neighbours.
having worked in maintenance for the past 5 years it's become very apparent that customers fear the estimate phase. horror stories of companies and individuals charging hidden fees and charging for extra services outside of the final proposal.
my 'no nonsense' ethos is simple, I will estimate the work based on a survey. this survey will be done on site and all local (20 mile radius) surveys will be free of any charges. my commitment to the customer is to provide a high quality service at a competitive rate.
a little procedural stuff now. my terms and conditions are pretty simple but lets go through them anyway.
first and foremost my obligations to you, I will be expected to complete all work prior to payment unless otherwise agreed. the default payment terms for all 'basic' work are within 7 days of the work being completed (net-7).
in some cases ie. large materials budget work, the customer maybe expected to contribute towards or provide full payment for the materials required.
customers are required to 'accept' and agree to the proposals via the online portal prior to work being started. this acceptance is binding.
a minimum of 2 hours
call-out charges apply outside of the local area (20 miles radius of pitlochry), these can be found on my portal in the knowledge base section.
late payments may incur additional charges, including interest on the balance.
using my portal access is super easy. once you've agreed a proposal and become a customer, i will set you up an online account. you'll recieve a welcome email and details to login to your account.
from the portal. you can monitor and update your account, check progress on projects, comment on tasks and check your invoices.
the portal gives you the power to keep up to date and interact.
